This is a collection of my most valuable aquisitions in my many years of dealing in high end antiques and collectibles.
This listing is for an 1816 Musket that during the Civil War was converted into a large pistol due to the shortage of weapons during that period. The very rare combination of markings increase the desireablity of this piece substantially. They are SNY which assosiates the gun with the State of New York , P V which I believe to be the initialls of the inspector, and the bust of a bald eagle that confirms its military background.I also have an 1858 Civil War canteen and a bayonet from the same period. As an added bonus I will include an original newspaper titled The Evening Post from December 28, 1875 that was published in New York.
I also have a very rare and valuable Mayan three legged bowl with much of the original paint still intact. This piece is made substantially more valuable by the depictions of elephants on the outside of the bowl and its three legged construction. The Mayans were known for many things from thier very accurate calender,to thier elaberate cultures, and even their skilled artisans. This is certainly a piece worthy of a museum. I have an authentic Native American medallion fashioned from shell with an intricate design carved into it.The symbol appears to be very similar to that of the zia symbol. I have been told by collectors and historians that these were used for trading and they are often times more desirable than pottery of the same era.
In addition to the fine collections of Civil War and Native American Artifacts I am also including a 400 year old coin that is from the Spanish Colonial Mint. It features the Pillar and Waves design and has very little wear to its surface espesially considering its age.I have never seen a better example and it features a two digit date of 96 which I believe is short for 1596 because the Pillar and Waves type cob was the second style of coin produced by this particular mint.
I will also include a very unique torpedo bottle that dates back to the late 1800's. There are bubbles in the glass and it has an applied top.It has a rounded bottom and I can't imagine a whole lot of these bottles have survived the test of time.I have an antique baseball bat, baseball glove,an old Ingraham pocket watch, as well as an autographed copy of Amazing Spiderman #45 that I will be including in this lot.
I pride myself on my high end collections of rare and unique antiques and collectibles. If you have any questions, would like to see photos or would like to make me an offer you can contact me through SwapThing.
Thank you very much for taking the time to view my listing and I hope you have a great day,Kyle
